Treat Yourself With Love
Why is it so important to love yourself and be kind to yourself? And to honor your body? In order to live a happy and fulfilled life, you want to get in the right mindset. How do you do that? The best way to do that is by honoring yourself and treating yourself with love and respect. Find what makes you happy and make a commitment with yourself to practice that daily. I know it might sound weird or silly but if you really think about it, a lot of the negative feelings can be put to rest by focusing on the positives and by having the right mindset. You can life your daily life with less stress and more compassion and grace with just by changing how you feel and think about yourself and your body. Once you put yourself first and make a daily commitment to doing something that brings you joy, you can spread that joy and take care of others around you too. If you are stressed and miserable everyday, it’s hard to take care of your family and children and feel upbeat about it. You owe it to yourself to honor yourself first and by allowing to put yourself first, you can make a huge change in how you treat others around you because you will operate from the place of love and grace not stress and negative self feelings. Here are some ways to find joy and treat yourself with love.
Find an activity that makes you happy and do it daily. For example do you love to draw, read, do gardening, exercise? Whatever it is that makes you really happy, commit to doing it daily. Don’t use the excuse that you don’t have time. Make time and things will start to change. You can’t afford not to because you can never get back time. You mind as well use your time wisely and for something that brings you joy.
- Keep a daily journal of the things you are grateful about in your life. Daily reminders help you get in the right mindset and being grateful helps you see the positives in your life.
- Exercise daily and focus on how it makes you feel and not what your scale shows or how your clothing fits. Use it more as a time for yourself whether it’s an exercise class at the gym, going for a run, going for a walk. Focus on how it makes you feel not what the results are. Thinking about empowering yourself, feeling strong and confident instead of focusing on external things.
- Be gentle with yourself. Stay away from punishing thoughts and ideas. For example if you ate too much, don’t think now I need to exercise to get rid of the extra calories or that you are a bad person for doing that. That kind of negative thinking is not healthy. Instead, focus on the next time and forget this time. Make sure your next meal is healthy and move on. We all have days and times when we don’t do things perfectly and that is ok.
- Let go of perfect and embrace imperfect. Nothing is hardly ever perfect in life so trying to make things perfect is an uphill battle. Focus on living your life by being present and embrace the twists and turns and the moments when things don’t go as planned. Embrace imperfect and enjoy every moment.
