My Big Why – How I went from barely wearing jewelry to being completely obsessed with it
I decided to share with you why I do what I do more intimately because I feel that my about page doesn’t perhaps address all the reason why I’m obsessed with creating jewelry and helping as many women as I can to feel confident and beautiful. I hope that you can have the same experience as I have had with falling in love with jewelry. Jewelry is so much more than just jewelry. Jewelry is the symbolism for everything that is happening in your life and your whole life journey. Jewelry is a representation of your story. What’s your story? Jewelry is also a representation of a transformation and memories. The transformation is the way a certain piece of jewelry makes you feel, how emotions and memories are attached to certain pieces of jewelry and how you feel after you wear a particular jewelry piece. Do you remember wearing a special piece of jewelry during a meaningful life event?
For years I only wore diamond earrings that my husband had bought for me as a wedding anniversary gift. I wasn’t much of a jewelry person other than I had bought a few Finnish jewelry designer pieces myself because I wanted to own pieces that were more unique and were fitting to the time of life I was in. My taste in jewelry changed as I got older and my children were born. I fell in love with jewelry and the process of jewelry making after attending a crafting group. I essentially went from barely wearing jewelry to being completely obsessed with it after I realized how much the piece of jewelry I wore made a difference in how I felt. The transformation was amazing. I felt more beautiful, confident and put together. An old outfit all of sudden felt more refreshed when I wore it with accessories that sparked joy in me. I became a jewelry designer because I fell in love with the process of jewelry making and wanted to create jewelry that would allow other women to also feel amazing and support their life stages of motherhood and beyond. I wanted women to have the same transformation as I did and have the jewelry they are wearing represent their story. I love wearing and creating jewelry that reminds me of my children and family. I want to create jewelry pieces that other moms out there can enjoy and have. I want the pieces of jewelry to have special meanings in my clients lives while they are going through they life journey like jewelry has been part of my journey. I want to inspire other women to pursue their dreams and passions.
Now I’ve been obsessed with jewelry for over 10 years and taste and techniques have evolved over the years as I’ve matured and became a mom over 17 years ago. Giving birth to three beautiful human beings was life changing and I’ve been blessed to get to watch them grow which is even more amazing. I love my life even though the everyday life can be overwhelming and stressful at times. I’m looking to find more balance while juggling the everyday demands of caring for my children and family and going through my journey as a mother, a wife and an entrepreneur. Life is stressful and demanding some days but at the end of the day it’s all worth and there is so much beauty and blessings to be found from that, even when it doesn’t maybe seem that way at times. Recently I’ve been looking to find ways for stress relief for the days that are beyond hectic and I’ve found that essential oil can be a huge help. I started creating essential oil diffuser bracelets as a request by my customers. I had used essential oils for years to support the health of my family but hadn’t thought about wearing or making essential oil jewelry until I was asked. After I made a few bracelets with lava beads and gemstones, I became totally obsessed. Since then I’ve made so many bracelets and continue to create different bracelets with gemstones, lava beads for the oil diffusing and combining them with African trade beads. I fell in love with African trade beads because of the story behind them representing a culture with a lot of history. I love combining something new such as the gemstones beads with something old such as the African trade beads because to me it’s a symbol and reminder of the journey I’ve been through and continue to go through as a mother, wife and just getting older. It represents the transformation and story of life. I love diffusing the essential oil bracelets and necklaces with citrus or balancing essential oil blends to help me when I’m feeling stressed or overwhelmed. I also love to wear a bracelet diffused with a calming oil blend when I’m watching my children watch playing sports, especially watching my oldest son play football. Just wearing the diffuser bracelet while taking a deep breath to smell the essential oils can feel so much more calming and uplifting. I also love working with different gemstones because of their properties.
The reason I’m sharing all this is because I feel jewelry is so much for than just jewelry. Jewelry represents you and your life journey and your life story. Jewelry represents a transformation and I want you to experience and feel the transformation. Jewelry is also a representation of your style. There are days when you might feel a little edgier and those days call for an edgier jewelry. There might be days when you are dressed very casual and just want to wear a jewelry piece that doesn’t get in the way but is still a representation of your style and brings joy to your day. I’m hoping that by wearing my jewelry pieces you can feel supported in your life and the pieces bring joy to your life and make you feel more beautiful, confident and stylish. All of use women are in this together and we all have life events that we are dealing with. Jewelry can bring us together and help lift us during for the times we need it and be there to celebrate with us when the little things in life are so worth celebrating. You are not alone in managing the everyday demands of your busy life. Put on a beautiful necklace or bracelet and wrap yourself with love. Loving yourself is essential to be able to love and care for those around you. As they say, put on the oxygen mask on yourself first, before helping others around you. As mothers that is what we have to do. We need to remember to love ourselves and take care of ourselves so that we can take care of others. It doesn’t hurt to look beautiful, stylish and confident in the process and jewelry can be your way of feeling that way. I’d love to hear what your biggest life moments have been and do you recall wearing a special jewelry during those moments. What’s your story? What’s the transformation you are looking for? Please comment below or send me an email so that we can chat and I can help you with your journey. Let’s support each other!
Lovingly,
Reija
